We'll be celebrating National Fountain Pen Day with other pen enthusiasts on November 7th. You can find a history of the fountain pen here.
However, if you want to know why to use a fountain pen, you need to interact with a person that loves them. Our personal teacher here at Edgar's was and is Dr. Don Whitney. He's the Associate Dean and Professor of Biblical Spirituality at Southern Seminary. He was a fountain pen enthusiast before they made a reappearance on the more popular level. A collector of vintage fountain pens; he has found, restored, and found a new hand/home for countless pens.
Dr. Whitney believes in Fountain Pens because he believes in words and quality. Not only what you say matters, but how you say it. He taught us a pen is a tool, and the more quality the pen the more you can utilize it for good. Thanks Dr. Whitney.
Here's my point: I know Fountain Pens are seemingly outdated in a world of styluses and the new Apple Pencil. But I would argue that these new expressions point to the longevity and need for classic quality. I hope you come to the store the month of October during the Pen-ultimate sale, and demo some pens to see for yourself how it will transform your writing which will ultimately transform your thought, brainstorming, leadership, communication, and so much more.
